About the Mall


Construction of the approximately 52,000m2 (GBA) started towards the end of November 2006 and was completed 18 months later in May 2008. The developers broke ground in January 2007 with the available shopping area being fully let. The 3000m2 office space was identified by the company as a superb location for any operation and have been fully let up to date.

The idea was to produce a retail area that was modern, clean and classic but still retaining a South African feel and the finished building was very true to this idea. Moffett on Main Lifestyle Centre is a predominantly double-storey development of shops and offices nestled onto a sloping site at the busy intersection of Main Road and William Moffett Expressway in the suburb of Walmer, Port Elizabeth. The lineal development has been designed along the north/south axis, giving maximum exposure of its west elevation to the William Moffett Expressway, the main access road linking the N2 motorway with the Port Elizabeth Airport. This enures high visibility from passing vehicular traffic and public transport.

Moffett on Main Lifestyle Centre is well set back from William Moffett, allowing for a open landscaped parking area between the Expressway and the main pedestrian mall entrances. Service deliveries occur along a secure service road running the full length of the eastern (rear) edge of the building.

Since its opening the centre has underwent a metamorphosis in ownership and management. This resulted in shoppers visiting the centre for more than just shopping. Over the past four years the centre has transformed into a truly family orientated centre with the emphasis on responding to the ever changing needs of their diverse shoppers by adding value to the tenant mix
